Berlin spring 2012
Photos from Gallery Weekend 2012, among others one of my favourite galleries in Berlin, Galerie Deschler, and the galleries in Galerienhaus Lindenstrasse, my favourite lunch and brunch place in Paul Lincke Ufer, as well as the Berlin War Memorial in Bernauer Strasse.
Tierpark Friedrichsfelde
Tierpark Friedrichsfelde in the former East Berlin is Europe’s largest landscape zoo: http://www.tierpark-berlin.de/tierpark.html. It is not quite as centrally located as the zoo near Kurfürstendamm, but easily reached by public transport. A lot of walking is involved in a visit, sometimes in forest-like terrain, so comfortable shoes are advised. Here are some photos from my visit there in July 2012:

“Copenhagen Zoo just killed four lions”
Oh here we go again. To think that a) this is something new, and b) it only happens in Copenhagen Zoo is laughable. It is after all an INTERNATIONAL breeding programme. Being against zoos in general is everybody’s right, but to keep singling out Copenhagen Zoo just because it has decided to be open about how zoos work, while all the other zoos remain too cowardly to come forward is the height of hypocrisy.
